Projects

Project Saksham

Our first batch of girls and women learnt stitching and Tailoring with an aim to learn to earn. After teaching two successful batches and creating beautiful bags, potlies, aprons and kitchen mitts we realised students were treating this as a hobby course. Our aim in all we do is to make our students learn to earn, therefore this course was removed indefinitely.

We started with Beautician and Hair Styling batches and are now training our 5th batch of beauticians.Students come from surrounding slums and are very happy with the skills they learn. We have trained 40 girls so far, out of which 10 are working full time, the others earn on their own time by freelancing at weddings and parties.

We began with a Basic beauticians course and have now added Nail Art and Make up to our offerings. We also do Inner Beauty workshops to teach our girls Employability skills,Personal Grooming, and Soft skills which give them the confidence to not settle for less and dream bigger.

Project Art

Aims to spot and nurture creative ability in underprivileged youth

Our talented artists who come from underprivileged street communities. In a bid to nurture and promote their innate talent we arrange mentorship programmes and internships for them so that their exposure to the art world encourages them to polish their skills.

We began their mentorship in Schebang Digital Studio and promoted their portfolio through our Manjhi calendar 2019,2020,2021,2022.

We are continuously on the lookout for potential clients and ideas to promote street art at various platforms. Our artists have exhibited  at various fairs around Mumbai and their paintings have also reached international clients as well as domestic ones. Training in Graphic design has led to a clear career path for one of them. The others are learning tatoo art and fabric pop art respectively.
